The French Ministry of Culture and Communication has presented the Médaille des Arts et des Lettres to Alfred Hürmer.
A feature film producer (INTEGRALFILM), Alfred Hürmer is also joint managing director of VGF (a collecting society for rights of cinematic works), a member of the board of directors of the FFA (the German Federal Film Board), president of the Committee for International Cooperation in European Affairs at the FFA, a member of the board of directors of the VDFP (the German Producers' Association), and president of the Franco-German Film Academy (which organizes annual events such as the Franco-German Film Meetings).
The ceremony was held on Tuesday, May 17, at the Unifrance Pavilion in Cannes, in the presence of UniFrance president Jean-Paul Salomé, the new president of the Franco-German Academy Marie Masmonteil, and French and German movie industry professionals.
