Synopsis
Today, space debris has become a nightmare for astronauts. And with good reason: its volume has been steadily increasing over the past 20 years with the proliferation of satellite launches and space missile tests. Worse still, in 2009, two intact satellites collided, sending thousands of new pieces of debris into orbit at breakneck speeds.
