Synopsis
On the eve of his 25th birthday, Sokuro, the son of Burkinabe immigrants living in Italy, perpetuates family traditions by marrying Nassira, a young girl from his native village. Back home after the wedding, Sokuro finds his daily life punctuated by hard work at the factory, fights with his 20-year-old sister Falira, who dreams of breaking free from her environment, and takes care of his little brother Nassir, aged 9, who is constantly failing at school. Caught between his desire to build a house in Burkina, the daily phone calls to his wife back home and the pressure of his parents who want him to bring Nassira back to Italy as soon as possible, Sokuro will have to choose a territory on which to build.
