Synopsis
La Madeleine is a working class neighborhood west of Nice. Sami Lorentz left it twenty years ago. He returns today to find those he knew in the past, those who shared his mother's final years: cafe-owners. Far from the luxury retirement enclaves of the Côte d’Azur, Scoffier, Tonin, Poupon, and Marinette, elderly workers, live unsure of the future of their family businesses. A return home that looks at the question of roots, connections, and handing down knowledge. A family film shot within the family.
