Synopsis
How was the legend of the artist created, this solitary hero of modern art, a contemplative monk living a reclusive life in his mountain? Paul Cézanne moved from the status of peintre maudit, ignored and disparaged, to that of a recognized master, the inventor of abstraction, with his work attaining record value on the art market.
