A Corner of Heaven
Synopsis
Two children, brother and sister, herd a flock of white goats across a steep gully. In the early morning, their mother, luggage in hand, slips out of their dirt-poor home near the ancient Yellow River and disappears. A "corner of heaven" may describe the world the little boy seeks, but it’s certainly not the one he encounters on his mini-epic Dickensian adventure-quest to find his vanished mother through a nightmarish contemporary rural China.
