Synopsis
A New Christ is condemned by his peers to re-enter the maternal stomach and is led chained, while being beaten by a stick, up to the opening which is going to allow him, by diving back there, to have never lived.

A censored movie:
Tristesse des anthropophages was banned totally and with ban to export by the committee of censorship in January, 1967. The movie is quoted in a long article dedicated to the censorship in France: " the misfortunes of the freedom: a nun, Secretaries, fanatics, man-eaters, etc. ", in Positive, N 88, in October, 1967. The collective A.R.C finances in 1968 the editionof a second 35mm copy.
Defying the ban, the surrealist Teenager Kyrou and the developer Philippe Joyeux will screen in secret the movie on numerous occasions from 1967. In May, 1968, the short film will be diffused in the cinema 3 Luxembourg occupied by the strikers.
In April, 2014, the Commission for the classification of works raises the ban by issuing a visa ALL PUBLIC.
