Radical in its staging, experimental in its structure, we could believe we’re watching a film noir or a B-movie. Thanks to this magnificently restored version, we are surprised to find ourselves strolling through a black-and-white version of Tokyo, entirely reconstructed in the studio. For the 40th anniversary of the release of the film, dive back into this spy movie that preceded Olivier Assayas’ unique and rich cinematography.
