Synopsis
An unemployed artist, Madame Wang sells CDs and DVDs on the black market. But she must leave Peking to pay off her husband’s gambling debts after he gets arrested. Accompanied by an abandoned child, she returns to her hometown situated in Guizhou province. There she asks her ex-boyfriend, Yuming, to help her become a professional mourner at funeral ceremonies. After a shaky start, she soon becomes the region’s most popular mourner.
