    Michel Strogoff, the Czar’s messenger, is sent on a secret mission to Irkutsk to inform the Czar’s brother of the imminent arrival of the Tartars. Assuming the false identity of Nicolas Korpanoff, a horse merchant, he has to cross 3000 miles, chased by Ivan Ogareff, a traitor on the Tartar’s payroll. On the way he meets Nadia, who is trying to get to Irkutsk to find her father…
    While in his home town, Strogoff links up with his mother, who reveals his identity. Captured, he’s condemned to have his eyes burnt out with hot pokers…
