Synopsis
Tham, former servant, promoted to a job as a building security guard, is now everyone's equal. His gratitude to the revolution is expressed in his dedication to the job and the friendly attitude he has for all the building's tenants. Old Tham, nicknamed Pops, is treated like an equal by the struggle's heroes. For more than twenty years, he's been witness to the passage of time and people, protecting all their secrets and obsessions. Tham realizes with bitterness that no one is really attached to the building as he watches them let it fall into disrepair. People are only living there because they're obliged to, they're all just waiting to leave. So much for community spirit! Then comes the day when western visitors want to buy the hotel. They offer financial compensation in return for everyone leaving the premises…
