Biography
Born in 1997, Mathilde Mazars is a documentary photographer based in Paris. A 2018 graduate of the École de Condé, her work falls within the field of documentary photography and explores issues of identity, territory, memory, and belonging through long-term projects. In 2024, she launched Prendre racine (Putting Down Roots), a project focused on immigrant workers in rural areas of France, Spain, Italy, and Morocco, which was selected for the Item mentoring program (2024–2025). Since 2026, she has been developing Sama, la jeunesse apatride de Bornéo (Sama: The Stateless Youth of Borneo), a project dedicated to stateless youth in Sabah, East Malaysia. A recipient of the Visions Jeunesses Award from Ashoka France, she regularly contributes to the French press, notably M Le magazine du Monde, Le Monde, Libération, Le Nouvel Obs, and La Déferlante.
