Biography
Born in 1994, Aliha Thalien holds a master’s degree in film from La Sorbonne, a DNSAP degree from the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris, and a postgraduate diploma from Le Fresnoy—Studio national des arts contemporains in Tourcoing. Her practice in film and installation explores questions of memory, language, identity, and territory in relation to her Caribbean heritage. Her work has been shown at international exhibitions and film festivals in venues such as the FID Marseille, MoMA, the Centre Tignous for Contemporary Art, and the Grande Halle de la Villette. Her short film “Nos Îles”, shot in Martinique, has won several awards in France and internationally.
