BiographyYousry Nasrallah studied economics and political science at Cairo University, then undertook film studies in 1973. Since 1970, he wrote articles for film magazines and the Beirut daily As-Safir. He started working as an assistant director in 1980. In Cairo, he worked on several of Youssef Chachine’s films, participating in the writing of "Adieu Bonaparte" (1985). In 1988, he wrote and directed "Sarikat Sayfeya" (Summersaults). After "Marcides" (1993), he made two short films "A Day With Youssef Chahine" and "Le Figurant", both 1994, and a video film "On Boys, Girls and the Veil" (1995). He directed "El Medina" in 1999. "The City" (2000) is his fourth feature. |
