Biography
Philippe Galland made his first feature, «L'Exercice du pouvoir» (after Anatole France), in 1976. He writes his own screenplays, working in a cabaret vein with Gérard Jugnot and Anémone in «Le Quart d'heure américain» (1982) and «Le Mariage du siècle» (1985). Six years later, he directed «Money» (1991), co-scripted with Catherine Breillat. In 1999, he released his sixth feature film, «Merci mon chien,» about an illegal Pakistani immigrant who works in the garment district.
