Thomas Vincent began his career in show business as a production stills photographer, then became an assistant director. He directed his first short film, "Lady Bag," in 1991. In1994, he started working on the script for "Karnaval," which would become his first feature. The film was selected in the Official Competition at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1999.
