The 2013 Moscow International Film Festival will take place from June 20 through 29.
The festival's 35th edition will present 35 French films and coproductions, including a gala screening of Capital. Costa-Gavras, the film's director, will receive a Special Prize for his contribution to world cinema, and will present a retrospective of his films.
Back in Crime dby Germinal Alvarez is the only French film in competition. Mohsen Makhmalbaf is the jury president.
Sophie Blondy will come and present her film The Morning Star, which features in the Films Around the World section.
Kirill Razlogov, the festival's artistic director, wants to give the festival a new impetus by condensing its selection while reinforcing the Moscow Business Square, in which Laurent Danielou and Guillaume de Seille will participate this year. Although the festival doesn't have a market, strictly speaking, several French sales agents plan to travel to the event.
