This year, the French Embassy in Ukraine celebrates the tenth anniversary of the French Spring Festival in Ukraine.
A packed program of films has been put together for this year's festival, with events held throughout the month of April in the major cities of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kiev, Lviv, and Odessa.
One of these events, the Long Short Film Nights, has proved highly popular since the festival was inaugurated in 2004. This event presents a selection of the best in French short film production, with a focus on recent films.
All of the short films presented this year have won awards or have been selected at prestigious film festivals in France and abroad (including Cannes, Clermont-Ferrand, Berlin, New York, and Toronto).
Ranging from fantasy dramas to romantic comedies, animated films to modern fables, this event offers enough to please all tastes. This year's long nights could well demonstrate once again that French short films have the potential to win over audiences.
