Since its opening on October 4 in Lisbon, the Festa do Cinema Francês has brought French films to five other Portuguese cities: Porto, Coimbra, Almada, Evora, Faro.
Each inaugural screening was held in the presence of representatives from the artistic crew of each film (director and actors), adding a tremendous profile to this key event for French films in Portugal. Such leading lights as Danièle Thompson, Dani, Jocelyne Saab, Valérie Lemercier, Édouard Weil, Alfred Frazzani, Benoît Cohen, Eléonore Pourriat, and Sophie Fillières participated in promotional campaigns for their films, which are currently either on the screens or slated for upcoming release in the country (including “Fauteuils d'orchestre,” “Palais Royal!,” and “How Much Do You Love Me?”).
On November 13, the city of Funchal on the island of Madeira will host the final screenings of the festival, featuring “Paris, je t'aime,” screened in the presence of Frédéric Auburtin.
The Festa do Cinema Francês is organized by the French Embassy in Portugal and the Franco-Portuguese Institute, with support from Unifrance and the GAN Cinema Fondation.
