Unifrance, along with the CNC, the Italian Film Board, and Cinecitta Holding are hosting the second Franco-Italian Film Forum in Rome on October 12 and 13, 2006. The two-day event aims to strengthen movie industry cooperation between France and Italy, continuing work initiated at the first forum held in June last year.
At the 2005 forum, discussions focused on Italian film laws, film funding mechanisms, and the context for film release in both countries. This year’s forum will address subjects including the distribution of non-national productions, the desire to provide Italy with a structured movie industry in the two upcoming years, the strengthening of co-productions, the involvement of regional authorities in film financing, and the role of television channels in the circulation of films.
Over 200 industry professionals representing production companies, distributors, exporters, television channels, film commissions, promotional agencies, financing organizations, and public authorities from both countries will attend the event.
These meetings will give participants an opportunity to build their professional contacts, to exchange their views, and to discuss and develop new film projects together.
After a greeting from the organizers of the forum, Margaret Menegoz, Unifrance President, Gaetano Blandini, Head of the Italian Film Board, and Alessandro Battisti, President of Cinecitta Holding, discussions will open with an update on the relations between Italy and France.
This two-day event dedicated to fostering professional collaboration between Italy and France will be officially closed by the CNC’s Director General, Véronique Cayla and Gaetano Blandini.
