Spanish distribution company, Vertigo, follows up “Amelie” with equally impressive releases of “Vidocq” and “Intimacy”.
Pitof’s film was released in Spanish theaters on January 25, after sweeping away 5 prizes at the Stiges International Film Festival last October. Out in 180 prints, and supported by a strong promotional campaign that included a visit to Madrid by some of the film’s crew, “Vidocq” has already been seen by 290,000 spectators 10 days into its run.
Vertigo Films distributes many European films and Patrice Chéreau’s “Intimacy” is another of its success stories. The film has already raked up 60,000 spectators after two weeks on forty screens.
