150 million admissions since January

According to initial estimations released by the CNC, close to 150 million spectators have made their way to French movie theaters since January, a rise of 10.6% over the same period in 2000.

These estimations also indicate that during this period in 2001, French cinema has claimed a market share of 42.7%, as against 30.7% at the same time last year. October 2001 was a particularly fruitful month for movie attendance, with 15.2 million admissions registered, up 13.6% compared to October 2000.
