For the latest MyFrenchShorts, Unifrance presents Summer of Sarah, a 2015 short film by Emma Benestan, starring Oulaya Amamra in one of her first roles.
It's summer, in the South of France. Every day, sixteen-year-old Sarah sells doughnuts with her father on the beach. One evening, she meets Baptiste.
This subtle film about the father-daughter relationship and the delicate coming-of-age period in a young person's life was selected for some twenty festivals in France and abroad, and marked the beginning of the collaboration between Oulaya Amamra and director Emma Benestan. They would meet again a few years later for the feature film Hard Shell, Soft Shell.
The film is available in nine languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Japanese, and Russian. Click on the "cc" button to choose your language!
