UniFrance is the partner of the residency of filmmakers Fanny Liatard and Jérémy Trouilh (directors of Gagarine) who are currently in New York for three months with Villa Albertine, which revealed the 60 residents of its inaugural season on October 21.
After the Villa Médicis, Casa Velasquez, and Villa Kujoyama, France has created a new networked cultural institution that renews the residency concept, under the leadership of the Cultural Services of the Ambassade de France in the United States. Located in 10 major U.S. cities (Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Washington DC), Villa Albertine will host 60 exploratory residencies per year throughout the United States. These tailor-made residencies, lasting from one to three months, are intended for creators from all disciplines, along with researchers, and professionals from the cultural world.
40 French cultural institutions, including Unifrance, are part of this inaugural season, contributing with their expertise in accompanying the residents, before, during, and after the residency.
UniFrance, along with June Films and Premiers Plans - Angers, is hence accompanying the filmmaking duo Fanny Liatard and Jérémy Trouilh for a new film project which will be set in a New York neighborhood.
All the information and the list of all the residencies can be found on the Villa Albertine website.
