Special registration rate for accreditation at MIFA 2019 for French short film producers

For the fourth year running, the AFCA and MIFA are joining forces to offer market accreditation at the preferential rate of €250 (including taxes) to French short film production companies.

The AFCA - Association Française du Cinéma d'Animation, L'Agence du court métrage, the SPFA, the SPI, and the International Animation Film Market (MIFA) are uniting their efforts to propose a special registration fee of €250 (including taxes) to producers of French short films in order to facilitate their access to the MIFA film market held in conjunction with the upcoming Annecy International Animation Film Festival, to be held from June 1 through 14, 2019.

This special rate is made available as part of the "FRANCE IN SHORT" program, which aims to support the growth of these production companies and help them gain access to the film market. An 18m² booth exclusively dedicated to French short film productions will be set up once again this year at MIFA's institutional area in order to assist producers with organizing meetings and to attract attention to their film catalogues.

This preferential registration fee is reserved exclusively for production companies that comply with all of the following criteria:

  • The company must be the majority-producer of one or more short films.
  • The company must not have produced a feature film during the year of application.
  • The company must not have produced a television series (excluding web-based series and series of short programs, such as collections) during the year of application.

Production companies with projects for feature films, television series, or 26-minute single-episode television programs that are currently in development are eligible for this special offer, provided that the criteria set out above are met.

Production companies with one or more films selected in the 2019 competition in the "Short Film" category at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival will automatically benefit from this special rate and are not required to meet the criteria set out above.

This offer is limited to two accreditations per production company.
Applications must be made via an individual online registration form.

Production companies have up until May 6, 2019, to apply for accreditation.
