The Locarno Film Festival is currently underway in the Swiss city located on the banks of Lake Maggiore. This year's festival offers a diverse selection of French productions, with a sizeable delegation of French artists in town to present their films in world preview screenings.
Isabelle Huppert, Bulle Ogier, Mélanie Bernier, Gilles Marchand, Maud Alpi and her lead actor Virgile Hanrot, as well as Rafi Pitts, Caroline Deruas, Jérémie Elkaïm, Axelle Ropert, Jenna Thiam and many other French actors and directors have traveled to Locarno to attend this year's festival, at which 34 feature films and 10 short films produced by France are currently being presented in world previews.
To coincide with this event, UniFrance co-organized a cocktail reception in collaboration with the French Embassy in Switzerland on August 6, which was attended by the entire French delegation, as well as festival president Marco Solari and his artistic director Carlo Chatrian. This reception also provided an opportunity to bring together a number of French producers, distributors, and exhibitors, and to highlight the particularly strong presence of French films at this year's festival.
