A special award was presented to Catherine Deneuve in celebration of her outstanding contribution to cinema at the Mumbai Film Festival in India on Tuesday, October 14.
The legendary French actress Catherine Deneuve is currently taking part in the 16th Mumbai Film Festival. It was a highly emotional moment for the actress on the evening of October 14 at the festival's opening ceremony when she was presented with an Achievement Award in honor of her movie career from the Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai.
A mini-retrospective of Catherine Deneuve's films is being held at the event, along with a master class. In her speech, the actress said, "I'm delighted to be in India, such an important country for the movie industry, like France."
This is the third year in which UniFrance Films has joined in partnership with this event, which has now stamped itself as India's largest film festival. This year, over twenty French films are showcased at the event, notably in the French Section programmed by UniFrance Films. UniFrance Films has also inaugurated a new Remakes Mini-Market as a sidebar event.
