Synopsis
Karnak is the most mysterious and important temple in all of ancient Egypt. Covering an area of more than 2 square kilometers, its construction spanned more than two millennia. Built, modified, redesigned, and enlarged over the ages and by the pharaohs who shaped it, the gigantic Karnak complex was the largest, most extensive, and most important religious center in all of ancient Egypt. Today, it remains the largest temple complex ever built in the world.
