Synopsis
Corsica, 1774. Based on an emblematic moment in the island's history, Les Pendus du Niolu, the film confronts the adolescence of a young Corsican peasant, Marcumaria, his hands deep in the earth, who hums more than he speaks, with that of Alexandre, a French officer sent to war, who writes to his father about his impressions of this strange country. Close and so different at the same time, they both move toward a tragic outcome.
