Synopsis
Algeria 1993. Fifty-year-old Jean René, a French citizen living in Algiers, finds a threatening letter in his letterbox. Initially, he thinks it's a bad-taste joke, but he then notices prowlers lurking and becomes increasingly paranoid.

Sixteen-year-old Diane exists exclusively through her mother's gaze. But this intensely close bond between Diane and her mother, Sophie, is becoming increasingly problematic for the teenager.
