Through his encounters with a broad range of people, Jean-Luc Godard develops a set of reflections on history, politics, film, the image, and time, which will lead him to the exhibition devoted to his artistic output at the Georges Pompidou Center. His exchanges with Dominique Païni, Jean Narboni, André S. Labarthe, Jean-Marie Straub, Danielle Huillet and Serge Kantchef were filmed at Godard’s home in Rolle, in his work studio, at Le Fresnoy film school (interacting with students), and at the Pompidou Center in the exhibition spaces. The material and issues dealt with in the film are those that Godard had envisaged presenting in lecture form at the Collège de France.
