Synopsis
Theater director Antoine Vitez gives two new lessons on playwrights, following his first seven lessons : "Discharged, from B. Brecht or the daily slakness" - Vitez shows how Berthold Brecht's plays are based on human interest news items, and how important it i that they be handled in a humorous way. At the same time, scenes from an underprivileged school raise the question of the ability of French culture to assimilate others cultures.
"The Exchange or how to consider Claudel as a laïc author" - Playing characters by Paul Claudel completely straight means failing to understand them, to appreciate the poetry and intensity of images that "reek of social issues", as Vitez puts it. This is a film-poem for a poet mortally burned by money like a moth before a flame. In parallel sequences, a woman confronting the desire to work meets a man on the banks of the Seine...
