Biography
Maya Gering was born in New York in 1990. She has lived in Paris for the past six years.
She recently graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Paris-Cergy, where she
received her masters degree in visual art with the highest honors from the jury. Before her
studies in art, she graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a bachelor's degree in Liberal
Arts. She is a visual artist, an animator, and a writer. Her work often centers around questions of
identity, language, and belonging. La Chute is her first film.
