Bindiya Murgai has produced and directed a vast array of productions that includes 35mm TV commercials and music videos, large multi camera studio and live shows and even “Guerilla TV” style documentaries. She has also done Broadcast Design (On-Air Packaging) for various projects. She has produced very successful shows in various genres of non-fiction, including documentaries, for some of the biggest television production houses like Fremantle ( producers of American Idol) and Indian TV networks, including Star Plus, Channel V, Sony, Doordarshan, Zee and Sahara. She was the Executive Producer with Wizcraft International, as part of the core team that set up the first net television channel in India. She then partnered in a production company in Mumbai, where she was the Executive Producer/ Director for various ad films and music videos, including Ghungta , Viva's relaunch video (Yeh Pyar Nahin To Kya Hai), Raghav (Aao Naa), Devang Patel (Patelscope) and one for World AIDS Day with Palash from Euphoria and various other celebrities. Some of the brands she worked on include Levis, Metlife Insurance, HCL,Novino Batteries and ICICI Bank. Her quest to do cutting-edge work with substance, to narrate a story through a unique perspective and her commitment to social, political, economic and youth causes lead her to partner in Blue Mango Films. She has passionately worked for issues like AIDS awareness, cancer, man-wildlife crisis and Tibet. She has directed documentary projects for clients such as Aga khan Foundation, Freedom Foundation, USAID and Cancer Patients Aid Association Bindiya is one of the most respected and well known names in the Industry and is truly a veteran in the medium with the experience of over a 1000 productions. The mantle of keeping the creative windmill running at Blue Mango Films rests on Bindiya's shoulders For the past few months, she has been working tirelessly on involving children in filmmaking, not only to promote the art, but also to enable them to constructively share their views, thoughts, angst and opinions with the community at large and is the founder-director of the widely acclaimed Blue Mango Young Moviemakers Project. This endeavour has been appreciated by none other than Shri A P J Abdul Kalam, Hon. President of India. She has also been awarded the PRSI award under the aegis of the Govt. of India for her contribution & achievement in the field of film media.
