Yvan Le Moine was born in Nice in 1959. Owner of the Café D’Edgar café-theater house, the Rivoli movie theater in Paris and the Actor’s Studio in Brussels, he took classes at INSAS in 1984 and IAD from 1985 to 1989. After completing his studies, he directed several short films in black and white, which were selected and won prizes at various festivals. He proceeded to produce and co-direct part of the sketch movie “The Seven Deadly Sins”, featuring Robert Mitchum, which was selected for the Critics Week at the 1992 Venice Festival. “The Red Dwarf” is Yvan Le Moine’s first feature, freely adapted from a story by Michel Tournier.
