All the team from cineuropa.org came to Club Unifrance to present their project for a web site dedicated to pan-European movie promotion.
Italia Cinema (the Italian cinema promotional agency), with support from the European Community's Media Program and the Italian Culture Ministry, is launching the first web site entirely dedicated to the promotion of European movies and audiovisual production.
Accessible in 4 languages (English, French, Spanish and Italian), the site will offer on a daily basis:
- Comprehensive information covering movie news throughout Europe, including interviews, specific subject files, cast and crew credits (for European productions since 2001), special events such as festivals, news about artists, theatrical releases (with access to the full range of European programming).
- Services: a forum to link up authors and producers, offering the possibility to consult several databases online (authors' rights, contact information for European producers and distributors, and so on), newsletters, forums led by specialists, chats with professionals, photo galleries, trailers, and more.
Emphasis will be placed on "early promotion": small crews (an Internet writer and web technicians) will research production activity on the ground from the first days of film shoots. A pilot for this new web reporting system was presented in Club Unifrance's theater.
A test version of this platform for European cinema is already accessible online:
www.cineuropa.org, with its official launch slated for July, 2002.
The site is supported by: Canal Numédia, the CNC, the French Community of Belgium, Allociné, the EFP, the Film Council, the SADC, the European Royalties Institute, among others.
