Synopsis
The last chapter in an underrated career. A terminally ill Hanoun's minimalist fugue as an ode to human expression in words, images, sounds and body language.
French filmmaker Marcel Hanoun's swansong. Hanoun, who died in September 2012, made the film in his own home, where he had two actresses sit behind a table and read texts from a music stand, replete with references to Dante and James Joyce, among others. 'Cello' was Hanoun's nickname: (Mar)cello.
