Biography

Charles Burns was born in Washington in 1955. He went to the celebrated Evergreen College art school and from 1981 to 1991 he created strips, short stories and illustrations for the magazine Raw. He also worked on different magazines and spent two years in Italy from 1984 to 1986. His stories have been translated and published extensively and in 1998 Delcourt published his Black Hole series. His stylised graphics, mixing black humour and macabre sights, give a personal interpretation to the great American myths of the 50s.
