UniFrance at the 74th Festival de Cannes

UniFrance will settle in Cannes from July 6 through 16 at two locations: the UniFrance Terrace and the UniFrance stand, within the Marché du Film. Export professionals, French film teams at Cannes (all sections included), and the international press will be welcomed there. Numerous events will also take places in these sites.

THE PLACES

The UniFrance Terrace in Cannes, a special venue at the service of French cinema on the international scene.
For the third year, the Unifrance Terrace will be set up at 5 rue des Belges, a stone's throw from the Palais des Festivals, in a space spread over three floors, to welcome the crews of the French films presented at Cannes (in particular the films of Julia Ducournau, François Ozon, Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu, Mia Hansen-Løve, Arnaud Desplechin, Nadav Lapid, and Sandrine Kiberlain, to mention just a few) for their interviews with the international press.
A studio dedicated to television interviews and remote interviews, as well as a photo studio (under the leadership of photographer Philippe Quaisse), complete the set-up. As in previous years, Philippe Quaisse will present on the UniFrance Terrace the French Cinema mon amour exhibition, a series of portraits taken during the  Rendez-vous with French Cinema in Paris in January 2021.

The Unifrance stand at the Marché du Film
Unifrance will also be present alongside professionals in a second location, a large 170 square meter space located within the Marché du Film (Riviera-L1), which will host six French sales companies: UDI - Urban Distribution International, Memento International, MPM Premium, Loco Films, WTFilms, and Celluloid Dreams) and includes a space dedicated to short films to allow short film distributors to meet with foreign buyers and festivals

This space will also be the place where UniFrance teams will meet with their contacts: directors and selectors of foreign festivals, international distributors, exporters, market managers, audiovisual attachés, cultural advisors, partners, and export professionals.

  • UniFrance also supports the ACID program by jointly organizing a breakfast meeting with the filmmakers and producers of certain French documentaries in the selection.
  • Networking events on the impact of French cinema will also be proposed, on the one hand around the ephemeral selection of films on the environment, which includes six French films, and on the other hand in association with the We Build Change project, whose winners will be hosted in the Riviera space.
