Travel diary by David and Stéphane Foenkinos

Sold to more than 30 territories, Delicacy allowed its two directors to travel around the world and meet audiences everywhere. Their impressions.

Delicacy is our first film, so we experience everything for the first time...
The first time that we see the title get changed to accommodate distributors and match the titles of local editions of the novel. Hence we present Tenderness in Russia, Delicacy in England, before Nathalie's Kiss in Germany, and Nathalie in Sweden. The first time that we see our film dubbed into Russian and that Americans and Israelis laugh in the same way at François Damiens' jokes. The first time that we realize that Audrey Tautou is an international star. In Russia, people cried when she came to present the film, a cinema operator offered her a huge bouquet of flowers and emotionally declared that he'd programed Amélie for three years. In New York, clusters of fans got her to sign endless photos...
The first time that we encounter other filmmakers, producers and actors elsewhere than in our own territory... What a pleasure it was!
