The third edition of the Rendez-vous with French Cinema in Rome will take place from April 17 through 21, 3013.
This Rendez-vous organized by the Ambassade de France in collaboration with uniFrance Films allows Italian spectators to discover French films at premiere screenings, along with films yet to have been picked up by Italian distributors.
A film market is organized alongside the festival, which allows French sales agents and Italian distributors to meet and conclude sales deals, and to participate in an increase in the dissemnation of French cinema in Italy.
Twenty French artists, including Anouk Aimée, Carole Bouquet, Laurent Cantet, Jacques Doillon,Costa-Gavras, François Ozon, and Jean-Paul Rouve are expected in the Italian capital, to promote their films ahead of their theatrical releases, or to support films not yet sold.
Since the 1980s, French films have never been seen in Italy as much as they were in 2012, when they grabbed 8.5% of the market share with The Intouchables (2.5 million tickets sold), as well as other success such as What's In a Name, Sister, and Rust and Bone.
