"Amelie from Montmartre," Grand Prix at Karlovy Vary

Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film has picked up the top honors at the 36th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic.

After being presented out of competition at the Moscow International Film Festival late June, Amelie from Montmartre continues its career in Eastern Europe, recently at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic. Here, the film won the Grand Prix-Crystal Globe award, a prize worth US$20,000. “Vies” by Alain Cavalier has won the prize for the best documentary film longer than 30 minutes.
