Kyiv International Short Film Festival throws open its doors to French films
No less than sixteen French shorts (including three co-productions) have been selected at the 6th Kyiv International Short Film Festival, to be held April 19 through 23, 2017.
This year's festival is marked by the high standards and quality of its programming. Showcasing films spotted at the recent Berlin International Film Festival (including A Summer’s Film, Our Legacy, Martin Cries), the Venice International Film Festival (What Tears Us Apart), and this year's Cannes Film Festival (Chasse Royale, Birth of a Leader), it will be a little like having the cream of young French filmmakers come to present the new generation.
Accounting for more than one quarter of the French productions selected, animated films will make their presence felt more than ever. Films such as Limbo-Limbo Travel, 5 mètres 80, and The Bald Future also bear witness to the renewal of talent and the diversity of current French filmmaking.
