Five French short films still vying for Oscar nominations

The shortlists have been pared down in the lead-up to the final announcement of nominations for the Oscars for Best Live-Action Short Film and Best Animated Short Film.

Among the 20 films that have advanced in the race to win a prestigious Oscar statuette in the Live-Action and Animated Short Film categories, five titles are French productions or co-productions – accounting for half of the shortlist! It is worth adding that the Hassam Ghancy takes the lead role of two of the Live-Action films. We offer him our congratulations for this achievement!

The members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) will now proceed to the next stage, in which five films will be named as nominees in each category.

The final nominees list will be announced late January, just prior to the Oscars ceremony scheduled for January 26.
