gets a new look !
Woyzeck is a professional soldier in an ancient fortress. His wife, Marie, lives in the village. He married her, they had a child together, but he has never said to her: “I love you.” When not passively obeying orders, Woyzeck listens to the wind in the company of his friend Andres. Marie is seduced by the grotesque Drum Major. In the enclosed world of the fortress, the Captain and the Doctor rain sarcasm down on Woyzeck, giving free reign to their power so as to dominate him, telling him that Marie is cheating on him. In the village inn, Marie openly flirts with the Drum Major; Woyzeck wants to intervene, but he is physically dominated by the other man. His rival beats him up. Woyzeck retreats to his own territory beside the lake. Marie refuses to explain anything. She rejects Woyzeck after a violent argument. She remains alone with her regrets. Their child, Karl, joins his father by the lake. They spend the night there, keeping each other warm. Woyzeck has made up his mind; he buys a knife from a shady guy. Then he comes for Marie and kills her on a moonless night, a red night. Woyzeck loves Marie, and finally tells her so in his own way. In this sense, it is the most beautiful day of his life.
