The Return of Casanova

A Feature film by Édouard Niermans

Produced by Les Films Alain Sarde

Release in France : 13/05/1992

    Synopsis

Following a life of adventure, seduction, fortune, and travel, Casanova wants to return home to Venice. He has grown old, is penniless, and has only his fame and his skill in cards to live on - and even they are not always risk-free. He has kept on his valet Camille as his sole companion, and owes him (of course) a large sum in back wages. For the time being, the leaders of the Venetian Republic are wary and refuse to give Casanova an entry visa. Thus he finds himself forced to wander the south of France and the north of Italy, fleeing the law...
