Just Before the Storm

A Feature film by Bruno Herbulot

Produced by Films du Phare (Les)

Release in France : 10/02/1993

    Synopsis

In an old family home, the early morning light faintly illuminates the disorders left by a feast that has taken place. The story of the film is that of this feast in which the paths of ten characters cross, none of whom emerges untouched by this early summer night. This feast acts as a revelation, precipitating events, discourses and emotions : everyone's life, swept along towards the heart of a menacing storm, will end up shattereed and will be drastically altered. There are five women, Charlotte, Mathilde, Joséphine, Pauline and Irène, and five men, Ferdinand, Thomas, Jules, Romain and Oscar. Except for two, they are in their thirtys and old enough to have lost some of their illusions, young enough to dare to shake their future. Most of them have known each other for a long time and are united by relationships of love or friendship which serve to weave between them a singular and complexe canvas. During the course of one night, on present and past thytms, the ten, sometimes gay, sometimes sad, are going to cross each others paths a lot, talking and trying to love each other...
