Synopsis

Agaguk, a great hunter and warrior whose destiny is to free himself from his people and to wash away the stain brought by the White man by killing him. Agaguk is the son of Kroomak, the leader of his clan and possessor of supernatural powers. After a confrontation with his father, Agaguk decides to leave his village taking his intended, Igiyook, with him. Flying in the face of all inuit tradition that forbids isolation and obliges the warrior to live in camp, Agaguk and Igiyook take up life outside of the tribe. At first Agaguk treates his wife according to the laws of his people , but little by little Igiyook grows stronger and stands up to her young hunter husband. She gives birth to a son, but their happiness is very quickly threatened...
