Synopsis
It is in the chapel of the marine ex-voto in the cathedral Saint-Louis, in La Rochelle, that we can contemplate the picture which testifies of the tragedy known by The Sapphire, in 1741. This slave ship becalmed for days and days in intertropical waters, transported two hundred and seventy one slaves and thirty crew members. This small picture is like a secret door in the cathedral which opens to the big Story.
