The pilgrimage to Compostela is an experience that attracts more and more people each year. People undertaking this walk must surpass their limits and are confronted by themselves and their environment. They are tested both physically and spiritually.
Over a three-year period, the filmmaker followed several people on their pilgrimage. None of them shared the same experience as they made their way.
Phase after phase, a new rhythm to life settles in, the path offers new perceptions. The repeated contact with nature, the elements, and other pilgrims puts things into the right perspective, gives things the right proportions.
When pilgrims finally arrive at their destination, at Cape Finisterre, they burn their clothes as the sun sets. The person they once were disappears so a new person can be born.
